One of my best friends told me to go buy this ASAP, that it was one of her favorite newly purchased products (and keep in mind this is coming from a girl who is the beauty/skincare product Queen). I then rushed to Lush after my Politics in China class and picked up this inexpensive lip scrub product in Mint Julips, it also came in Bon Bon and Bubblegum. The second I got home I read some reviews and found out that it's an all natural product and contains mostly sugar...therefore it's EDIBLE. After scrubbing my lips, using my index finger there was some left over sugar and so I just licked off the rest and it tasted SO GOOD. My lips were left feeling softer than ever and tasting sweeter than ever! Definitely a fun, inexpensive, and amazing product with great results that is useful in a city where the high today is -2 degrees (in other words your whole body is dry with dead skin). So go buy it now, it's a lip scrub and dessert all in one :)
As I have expressed on several previous posts...I have an actual addiction to beautiful books and I collect them in hopes of one day displaying them on custom made, built-in book shelves with thick molding. Obviously when this day comes it will be in my newly purchased walk-up apartment on the Upper West Side (is it obvious I live in lalaland?). Anyway, back to the point of this post, I have shown down below all of the pretty little books that are on my current wish-list. They vary in size and content...oh, you might notice that some of the books are beautiful children books. It's not weird that I'm already buying things for my future children...no, no, it's not weird at all.
Breaking News! Here are some pictures taken from Tom Ford's exclusive debut event showing his new womenswear Spring 2011 line. Terry Richardson was hired to take photos of the event and it was also being filmed into a short movie, which will be shown on Tom Ford's website in the next month. He also told media that he is in the middle of writing another big film, but this time he is abandoning the drama and moving towards comedy. A Single Man was completely breathtaking I cannot wait for this one to come out!
I know I posted the song "Get Some" by Lykke Li a couple of weeks ago, but the official music video for the song has just been released today and I love it, I love her, and I love the song! I want more Lykke Li!! Enjoy :)
It is a crisp and sunny Sunday afternoon and I am stressed beyond belief with the amount of homework I have to do, including a research paper where I must describe how photography's subjects and meanings have evolved in the past 150 years by referencing three 20th century artists. I have chosen to focus on contemporary artists Chuck Close, Sally Mann and Jerry Spagnoli, who use early to mid 19th century mediums such as daguerreotype and collodion process but in a modern context. I am also currently reading Nightwood by Djuna Barnes for my Modern Fiction class and so far it is a very unusual, but nevertheless amazing novel. Well enough about the tedious, however interesting homework I am doing and let me share with you some little random things I am obsessing over this weekend:
1) Watched A Single Man again this weekend and now I'm really into the all-black, 1960's, cat look and so I purchased gorgeous black thick leggings and a thin cashmere/wool-blend long sleeved, chic black turtleneck. I also have been doing the thick, cat, liquid eyeliner look with nude eyeshadow. With this look comes a beautiful Burberry Four Pocket Wool Duffle Coat in Camel (which I plan on hopefully purchasing this winter). This look is so so simple, clean, classic yet contemporary, I love it *sigh*.
2) Loving this wool, hand knit dog sweater for my dog Charlie:
3) Hot Cocoa and Smokin' Hot by Essie:
4) The Sinatra Channel on Sirius Radio:
5) Mulberry Black Natural Leather Cosmetic Purse (but used as a wallet)
I don't use a wallet anymore for some reason; it started about 3-4 months ago and now I'm just obsessed with small pouches as my wallet. I keep change, bills, Rosebud Salve, my public transportation card and Student ID in there and then I have a metal security card holder for my important cards separately. Right now I am using a red worn out pouch my Aunt bought for me from Paris when I was probably 6 years old and so I think it is time I invest in a more grown up, good quality pouch...that is, a simple Mulberry pouch.
Good morning! Woke up early to go to school, but I'm taking the time to post the songs I've fallen in love with, the winter coat I have fallen in love with, and the leather saddle bags I've fallen in love with...all within the past 24 hours!
Songs Florence + The Machine's newest single Addicted To Your Love
Florence + The Machine's Heavy In Your Arms
Winter Coat Maje Paris Alenxia Manteau Grey Avec Fourrure de Raccoon et 100% Laine Vierge Saw this in the October 2010 issue of L'Officiel Paris and fell in love...
Leather Saddle Bags Yesterday I was browsing ebay and came upon dozens upon dozens of insanely gorgeous VINTAGE COACH BAGS! They are so simple, 100% leather, all in black or camel (sometimes you'll find a "rare" color of burgundy or whatever), and most of the styles are cross-body and saddle bags! They are gorgeous!!! And cheap...(averaging around 20$)!!! I swear this is a revelation...and might I just add how sad it is that Coach has become so different from what the company was originally about. Here are some of the many bags I am bidding/watching on ebay!
I love love love style.com's The Intersection videos, but they hardly ever post new ones. This one down below is their newest one in a long time showing the styles of a Swedish model, the Editor-at-Large of Vogue Turkey, and a journalist from Hong Kong. Enjoy :)
This version in black with gold hardware will be mine in exactly SIX MONTHS for my graduation present, but this grey one with silver hardware is insanely gorgeous as well!
I'm going through a modern classical/post-classical phase these days and Max Richter is all I've been listening to. His work is haunting, sad, moving, and beautiful bringing you to another world. Here are a few songs I've been obsessing over:
